(Bo, Stephanie, Bailey and Kenzie Woods)
Developing a corn maze and creating “Autumn Acres” has been a dream of ours and quite an awesome adventure!! After much research and planning, our dream has became a reality and a yearly fall tradition on 50 rolling acres on I 40 in Cumberland County, TN.
Bo and I both grew up on farms. I grew up in Overton County, TN on a farm where everyday life consisted of helping with the chickens, hogs and cattle that were being raised on the farm, not to mention the various crops that were being produced. Bo spent most of his life on a cattle ranch in Paris, TX before moving to Tennessee in the early 90’s.
Bo and I met at Tennessee Tech University where we both majored in Agriculture and I then went on to obtain my Masters degree in Education. Bo and I married in 1996 and soon moved to Crossville where Bo had already established his own construction business. I saw the idea of “Agri-tourism” as a way to use both my degrees as well as a way to establish a “family farm” of our own in which we could raise our children. We now have 2 beautiful girls~ Bailey and Kenzie.
In 2001, we decided to give our farm a name and invite a few schools to come and tour the farm, get a pumpkin and learn about farm life. This was a huge success and each year has grown by leaps and bounds.
Today, Autumn Acres gives school tours to about 10,000 school children and entertains church groups, boy and girls scout troops, and many families and friends on the weekends. Every September and October guests visit the farm for and awesome and unforgettable experience. One of our greatest joys is to watch the smiles on peoples faces as they pick their pumpkin, play with the animals in the petting zoo, slide down the tunnel slides, bounce on the “Mega Pillow” and try to find their way out of a design that has been carved into 12 acres of corn.
Bo and I feel that God has blessed us with a farm that we can provide good, clean, wholesome, family fun!! We invite and welcome you to our farm and we hope that “Autumn Acres” will be a yearly fall tradition for you, your families and friends to make memories that will last a lifetime.
